The new year is a time of reflection, where we look back upon the year we just had, and look forward to the time ahead of us. Some of us enjoy making new year resolutions, often following the “New Year New Me” motto. Gyms in the following weeks will be filled with enthusiastic individuals keen to muscle up for the new year, all of whom will all be absent for almost 90% of the year. Why don’t they keep going after a few weeks? Because gym can be difficult, gym can be boring, and gym can be expensive…..Muscling up can be hard…..unless you’re a car……
Adding muscle to your car is as simple as purchasing a body kit of your choice and getting it fitted (or better yet, coming in to Active Motorwerke as seeing what we can do for you). This year, there will be some fantastic body kits released for a wide variety of cars, but, as per the new year spirit, the epic body kits from last year should not be forgotten, and so here are some of the best body kits featured in these blogs from last year, although with that being said, there are many many more body kits out there which have yet to be featured!
#1 Audi TT Prior-Design Aerodynamic Kit
The ‘Prior-Design Aerodynamic Kit’ molds the soft edges of the TT into sharp contours akin to that of the brilliant Audi R8. Immediately, the car attains an aggressive stance, something that the stock model lacks. The great thing about this kit is that you don’t lose touch with the iconic TT look, something that unfortunately many body-kits are unable to do. You still get that perky rump and smooth front bonnet that works so well on the stock car, but now your car looks like it belongs in a class above!
#2 BMW 2 Series AC Schnitzer
n recent times BMW has released the 2 series, essentially an evolution to the original 1 series that we saw in the past decade. As you’d expect, they’ve done a fantastic job, with the looks, quality and driving abilities you would envisage from a premier motoring company such as BMW. But if the standard model range isn’t quite good enough for you, then companies such as AC Schnitzer offer parts to make your car just that extra little bit more special.
The parts you can choose allow you to truly mix and match to your liking, giving your car the personal touch it deserves. Just some of the options include
- Carbon rear diffuser
- Racing Evo or Sport tailtrims
- Engine performance upgrades
- Racing suspension and spring kits
- Bicolour rims
- Carbon mirrors
- Carbon front spoiler
- Rear roof spoiler
- Aluminium pedal set
#3 BMW X6 Hamann SUV range
The Hamann BMW X6 wide-body kit gives the car a sportier, more toned look, with sharp lines rooted between smooth curves at the back of the car, long swollen lines on the side giving more depth, and finally, a bulkier, busier bumper at the front.
#3 Range Rover Sport Hamann SUV range
On the Range Rover Sport, Hamann have provided a kit that closely resembles the stock kit, however contains subtle differences that truly benefits the look of the car. On the front an aggressive, snarly look is achieved by using a gaping horizontal intake spanning the majority of the width, leading to bulging edges. The use of different line lengths on the side of the car gives it a windswept look, as if the sheer speed of the thing is ripping the car apart. Out back the car looks relatively normal, which really exemplifies the ‘less is more’ approach.
It really should be reiterated, these are just some of hundreds of body kits available out there, so stay tuned in the coming weeks for more incredible kits for your car. If you’re in the mood for something a bit fresh this year, then you’d be glad to know that here at Active Motorwerke Australia, we offer a wide variety of performance and aesthetic enhancements to give your car the performance edge!
