Nissan first sold the GT-R in 1969, meaning the team down at Nissan was a little lazy, or perhaps they forgot, as this 45th anniversary special edition GT-R is a year late, but whose going to tell them otherwise.
So, what’s so special about the 45th anniversary edition GT-R? Well…..not much. Under the bonnet, we still have the same 3.8 litre twin-turbo petrol V6 that will launch you to 100km/h in 2.7 seconds, just like any other R35 spec GT-R. The interior is the same and so too is the body shape. What is “special” about this special edition model is the colour.
For a premium price, your GT-R will come coated with Silica Brass, a colour last seen on the 2001 GT-R M-spec. In addition to this you get a golden VIN badge, and a plaque placed on the centre console reading “45th Anniversary”. You’d be forgiven for thinking this special edition car came with more than just a fresh new paint scheme and some shiny plates, but unfortunately that is all Nissan has given us.
If you are a fan of the colour though, you’d better hurry, as only three of these cars will be delivered to Australia.
